After 15 years of marriage, Angela (Olivia Wilde) and Joe (Seth Rogen) are going through a rough patch. It’s been ages since they last had dinner with other couples. When Angela spontaneously invites the neighbours from the flat above them over, it becomes clear that Pina (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton) are far more friendly towards them than their distant encounters in the lift had previously suggested. What was intended to be a convivial evening of small talk about cheese, wine and interior design turns into a madcap rollercoaster ride of emotions.
