Inspired by the true story of a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976. Expecting an easy ride, Tom (Steve Coogan) discovers a divided nation and a class of unteachable students. However, after he rescues a penguin from an oil-slicked beach, his life is turned upside-down.
Steve Coogan is an award-winning British actor, comedian and writer. For his work across TV and film, Steve has won seven BAFTA Awards, seven British Comedy Awards and was awarded The Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy by BAFTA in 2019.
Peter Cattaneo (Director) recently directed all episodes of “The Flatshare” for 42/Paramount+ and PBS/Masterpiece’s TV adaptation of Anthony Horowitz’s best-selling novel “Magpie Murders” starring Lesley Manville. Peter also helmed the feature film Military Wives (42/Lionsgate), starring Sharon Horgan and Kristin Scott Thomas, which premiered at TIFF in 2019. Peter was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for hit-comedy The Full Monty and nominated for Best Short Film for Dear Rosie. He directed all three series of the BAFTA-winning BBC comedy “Rev,” starring Tom Hollander and Olivia Colman, as well as the critical hit series “The A Word.”
