Catweazle

12-year-old Benny (Julius Weckauf) discovers the quirky magician Catweazle (Otto Waalkes) in his basement, who has accidentally journeyed from the 11th century into the present. Catweazle is desperately searching for his magic wand, because without it, he will not be able to travel back in time and get home. Unfortunately, it is already in the possession of rapacious art expert Dr. Metzler (Katja Riemann), who already prepares to sell it. Together with Benny, Catweazle sets out to recapture his wand – and a magical adventure begins…

The BBC TV show “Catwaezle” was one of most successful British series in the 1970s, especially due to the charismatic and beloved actor Geoffrey Bayldon, who died in 2017. The show is still very popular with many fans. In this first adaptation for the big screen, comedian Otto Waalkes takes on the role of the magician from the medieval times who involuntarily ends up in the present.
